The Learning Technology Standards Committee (LTSC) suggests that: “Learning Objects are defined as any entity, digital or non-digital, which can be used or re-used or referenced during technology supported learning.”
The 8LEM a recommended pedagogical model by the Learning Resource Exchange. Developed at the University of Liège in Belgium, it is a theory that enables most if not all elements of the learning process to be categorised and analysed within eight types of activity. (Receives, Imitates, Practises, Explores, Experiments, Debates, Creates, Meta-learn.) These activities are part of the common professional language of all teachers all over Europe. The 8LEM-model connects in a systematic way both the student's demand and the teacher's supply, and their interrelations.
